We were clearly informed about terms and conditions governing usage of EC2 by Amazon Web Services when setting up our trial account , Usually most of us when we see I agree button , or accept button , we used to proceed without reading terms and conditions. This could happen due to our negligence only.
Many of us don't aware that HANA 30 days developer instance hosted in Amazon Web Services(AWS) , could give us bill sock if we just created HANA instance and let it run whole day even after we stopped practicing tutorials. Most of the new HANA learners enrolled in open SAP could be new to cloud computing platform and the way it works and hosting providers billing system works.
In order to avoid bill shock when you use HANA instance hosted in AWS, use following techniques suggested by Amazon itself to limit your usage and stop the instance when not being used.
AWS User login to your amazon AWS services account and go to management console then click on EC2
Launch your running instance , right click on your instance and click stop or Terminate
Setting up CloudWatch
