Currently learning along with 28,000 other HANA'ers the opensap Introduction to software development on SAP HANA
I noticed that in Unit 4 the idea is to provide advice on using AWS so that you get an idea of using SAP HANA in a cloud, and I have taken the advice provided by Thomas in the presentation, however there are a number of points unclear to me as a first time user of AWS/HANA that I hoped would be clarified in the course.
I have set up an instance in AWS with the advised technical specs, but when I attempt to connect to the instance using SAP HANA Development Tool it asks for a hostname and have tried various different entries but it still cannot connect - in Unit 5 I noticed that Thomas used a precached Walldorf hostname but when running through the Unit 4 content again I see no reference to this. Then I use the public DNS address and get to the user ID and Password screen - I use my "S" number and password that works on SDN but fails here with the username/password is incorrect, clearly I am missing something here. Anyone else have the same issue or is there is a remedy out there ?
